Photoshop Elements Advanced class: Slideshow

Create a Custom SLIDESHOW in PhotoShop Elements.

**For PCs only-- Mac versions of Photoshop do not have a Slideshow Feature!

Use your own photos, music and style to create a one-of-a-kind family treasure.

This is a (3) hour class held on:

Saturday, January 21, 2012 (9:00 am - 12 noon)

This class requires that students prepare the following items BEFORE class in order for the process to run smoothly for all attending.

You will need to organize the following:

1. Create a NEW folder on your laptop named "Slideshow". Find (30-40) Digital Photos that you want to use in your slideshow. Put those (30-40) photos into that new folder. Remember where you put and saved that folder on your laptop for class. You will not have time in class to search through all your photos to find the ones you want to use.

2. Bring a Music CD with a song you would like to use in your slideshow. You can also use a song from iTunes if you are familiar with this program. But if you use a song from iTunes it needs to be in MP3 format (not all songs purchased from iTunes are) PhotoShop Elements only supports music in the following formats: mp3, wav, wma, ac3

3. Please bring a set of headphones to plug into your computer. This will enable you to hear your music only and sync your photos to the music without being distracted by other students slideshow music choices.

Photoshop Elements Upgrade

Photoshop Elements 10 is here.
I am upgrading from PSE7.
Version 10 offers: adjustment mask layers, texts paths, cropping guides,
additional smart brushes & a few more guided edits.

I usually don't upgrade with EVERY new version of Elements,
but I feel PSE10 will be an added benefit from PSE7.
If you are using an older version of Photoshop Elements, take a look at PSE10.

Editing Summer Photos

I edited this photo of my son and husband at the beach using PhotoShop Elements.



Step-by-Step process:

1. Open photo into your editor
2. Adjust levels
3. Re-size if needed
4. Reduce the hue & saturation to give it a vintage feel
5. Select a texture brush to add small dots around the edge of the photo. Make sure adjust the scatter 13%, hue jitter 15% and scatter 57%
6. Make sure your foreground and background color are complimentary to your photo. I used white in the foreground and navy blue for the background
7. Add a new layer for the brush effect. Drag your brush along the edge of the photo to create a brush "frame" or texture
8. I used an overlay from http://www.designerdigitals.com for the vintage effect edge.
9. I used the typeset letters also found at the above website
10. Add text using the T tool. Remember to add names and dates to photos...you think you won't forget, but you will.

We have been teaching PhotoShop Elements for (6) years & have taught over 500 people just like you.

We offer (3) different groups: each a different day & time.
Choose one group & come each week at that same day & time.

Cost $180 which includes (5) two-hour classes (10 hours of instruction).
